UCA is a well-established supplier of compressed air production plants and services. UCA owns and operates facilities located on or adjacent to customer sites. Our Home Office sales, marketing, project development, project management, and operations and maintenance activities are supported by a group of in-house process and project engineers; mechanical, electrical and control system design experts; construction support; and operations support personnel.  Additional operations and maintenance personnel are located at UCA onsite production sites.  


We supplement our full-time resources with pre-qualified contract resources and specialists with proven, industry-specific, design, construction, operations and maintenance skills.

Job Descriptions

Head Office and Regional Sales

  • Working with other UCA resources, sales managers play a key role in identifying and developing business opportunities, assessing potential supply options, developing detailed technical and commercial proposals and finalizing mutually beneficial contractual arrangements
  • UCA builds, owns and operates supply systems at customer sites to supply compressed dry air under long term contracts
  • Preferred sales manager candidates will have a background in technical sales and marketing, be familiar with compressed air, air dryers, cooling towers, associated utility systems, and industries/operations which routinely use compressed dry air. They will enjoy identifying potential customers and take pride in developing mutually beneficial proposals for long term air supply and/or turnkey equipment supply

Project Management and Construction / Startup Support

  • Experienced project managers, project engineers, systems engineers, and construction/startup support personnel 
  • Project managers and engineers participate throughout the entire project life cycle from concept/ proposal development through detail design, procurement, construction, commissioning and customer acceptance. They also assist with plant performance assessments, trouble-shooting, and optimization
  • Construction and startup support personnel manage an array of field activities during construction, commissioning, and startup of Compressed Air Facilities
  • Candidates must have significant industrial experience and the ability to communicate effectively, recognize critical path activities and prioritize accordingly; and to work cooperatively with customers, suppliers, internal resources and other support services personnel

Compressed Air Systems Manager

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • The overall operation of all compressed air systems to meet or exceed contract performance agreed with customers either directly or utilizing third party contract services as appropriate
  • Monitoring and process evaluation of all on-site facilities
  • Implementation and maintenance of asset management, including spare parts, preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance so as to achieve or exceed operating budget and process performance targets
  • Execution and maintenance of UCA environmental, safety, and quality assurance compliance systems and programs
  • Continuing communication and excellent relationship with the customer to coordinate plant production and maintenance activities and to meet customer needs and availability guarantees
  • Management of local operations employees, commissioning and startup 
  • Plant staffing, training and development
  • Facility budgeting
  • Evaluation of current process conditions, performance reporting and development and implementation of continuous improvement plans
  • Performing and/or scheduling maintenance of instrumentation, electrical systems, compressors, dryer systems, pumps, valves, motors, and other plant equipment
  • 24-hour on-call responsibility
  • Continuous improvement of all applicable safety, environmental, quality and compliance programs
  • Excellent working relationships with compressor and system vendors/manufacturers

Administrative Support

  • Support home office project management personnel during all phases of project development, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up
  • The position does not require a technical degree but requires good communication skills, the ability to pay close attention to critical details and the ability to organize data and to prioritize multiple tasks. Candidates should be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel and, above all, have a proactive and responsible team approach to problem-solving and achieving goals
  • Project support activities will typically include a mix of routine administrative, record keeping, expediting, and coordination activities, some of which can, at times, be time-sensitive, high-priority activities. 
  • Responsibilities can be tailored to individual skills and experience. Candidates with significant experience in a similar role in related gas/utilities processing industries with engineering or data management organizations being of particular interest
